| the best first day of school
yesterday was the first day of instruction w/ the kids the best part was seeing old faces on campus- even those silly knuckleheads crazy how fast they grow just in the short amount of time and some of the boys are going through puberty and their voices changed over the summer hehehe
i have three 9th grade classes and they are just soooo adorable! compared to the 6ft 11th/12th football boys, they look like 2nd graders
AND i get to teach algebra II this year! so excited! ive been wanting to teach it for the last 2 years. the class is ridiculously large- 46 students some of them had to sit on the floor- so im hoping that the school will open more classes but w/ this district, who knows what'll happen
not my favorite second day FIIIIIIIIIIIGHT! today, i walked into the hallway after school and i realized that 2 boys had just fought. blood was gushing down one kids face and the other kid was yelling/cussing. this kid was starting to get all riled up again to fight the other friend so i pushed him towards the door and had to shout for him to get out- which thankfully he did. then i yelled for other teachers to call the dean and i tried to get the bloody kid to walk w me but he ran away. so after i talked to the deans, i stayed afterschool to do some work. then around 5, i heard the principal's voice over ther PA. we had a lock down. then i heard choppers. then i heard sirens. I WAS SOOO CURIOUS but stayed inside. i looked out my window and saw 2 kids get frisked and 1 kid was handcuffed and taken away by the cops. then around 6, the principal informed everyone that it was safe to open all the doors.
im not sure what really happened but im pretty sure it has something to do w/ those kids in the hallway earlier in the day.
whew what a day!

| baby mammas at ibc
currently there are 5 pregnant ladies at ibc today i went to julie's baby shower. congrats to julie and hans!!! cant wait for baby isaac to be born!
i wish i can share the details of today but it would be wrong...cuz....
HANDS DOWN, it was the craziest baby shower EVER! in the middle of the shower, i was confused- i wasnt sure what we were celebrating. mad props to the ladies(soojin, esther jin, stephanie, lisa, and liz) who planned the ninja/martial arts baby shower (apparently hans is a crazy martial arts master)
found out some things about these married ladies that you would not believe- what characters. I LOVE IT!!! im so thankful that these ladies are examples for us single ladies. they're Godly AND crazy. =)
i used to think that there was only one mold for a Chrisitian woman. it was very difficult to try to fit this mold and to look "Godly" in the ways that the young Christian circle defined it to be. it became a form of legalism and it mattered more to do and say the right things to people rather than to have a clear conscience before the Lord.
needless to say, I'm so thankful that God made each so different and unique. there isnt ONE model that represents a perfect Chrisitian woman. im so thankful that ive been freed from that bondage- daily i stand before the gracious Lord and nobody else. that's why im uninhibited as never before =) freeeeeeeeeeeeedom~!
ill be updating a lot more. yes, IM OUT on summer break!!!! ive always been pretty active but lately ive been wanting to crazy active things. if im not doing something active, im asleep. (its ridiculous- im like the narcoleptic girl in the movie deux bigalo) so if you want to sweat, talk to coach connie. she'll make you do this crazy conditioning workout. jk jk. let's talk- we got lots to do.

| i got this off of girltalk.blogs.com
hilarious
"A woman was waiting at an airport one night, With several long hours before her flight. She hunted for a book in the airport shop, Bought a bag of cookies and found a place to drop. She was engrossed in her book, but happened to see, That the man sitting beside her, as bold as could be, Grabbed a cookie or two from the bag between, Which she tried to ignore, to avoid a scene. She read, munched cookies, and watched the clock, As the gutsy 'cookie thief' diminished her stock. She was getting more irritated as the minutes ticked by, Thinking, If I wasn't so nice, I would blacken his eye! With each cookie she took, he took one too. When only one was left, she wondered what he'd do. With a smile on his face and a nervous laugh, He took the last cookie and broke it in half. He offered her half, as he ate the other. She snatched it from him and thought, Oh brother, This guy has some nerve and he's also rude. Why, he didn't even show any gratitude! She had never known when she had been so galled, And sighed with relief when her flight was called. She gathered her belongings and headed to the gate, Refusing to look back at the 'thieving ingrate.' She boarded the plane and sank in her seat, Then sought her book, which was almost complete. As she reached in her baggage, she gasped with surprise: There were her cookies in front of her eyes. If mine are here, she moaned with despair, Then the others were his and he tried to share! Too late to apologize, she realized with grief, That she was the rude one, the ingrate, the thief!" | | |
